There was much laughter, a very high level of engagement and some awesome scenes were created. They then had to code the sprite to either say something or act in a certain way – according to how the light made them feel. After demonstrating the tool and modelling the way it worked, I set them a challenge to create a scene where there was a particular light source. These teachers had heard of Scratch Junior but hadn’t used it with their students. Their topic of inquiry at the time was around light and sound, and the ways these can affect and impact on people. We were looking at ways to integrate the new Digital Technology Curriculum with things they were already doing in their classroom.
